Dinosaur National Monument

Picture
The Monument straddles the Utah/Colorado State line with most of the park in Colorado, however the quarry is in Utah and is the most visited part of the park. The Colorado side is not to be missed though as it contains the deeply incised Yampa River and its confluence with the Green River as it comes down from Flaming Gorge through Lodore Canyon, and to me, the most beautiful part of the Monument. We were camped in Echo Park in a small primitive campground at the end of a winding dirt road that sits (almost) at the river confluence of the Green and Yampa rivers, a very gorgeous spot.
